ICOM IC-706 reviews

My Wife bought the 706 for me and we were going to see my daughter who lived in Georgia. (we lived in Massachusetts) so i set it up on my Chevy Eurosport with a Hustler vertical i had all the coils 40-10M the only fault with that antenna system is you have to get out to change the coils! But i also had a duel band 2-440 mag mount on also! So i could basically work most of the bands driving down! For a 15 hr drive i never had a dull moment! Someone was always around to talk to! I still wish i had that radio today! lol I sold it and my wife almost killed me! But if i ever get another one iill go for the latest model that Icom made its a great shack in the box radio! 73 Joe KA1JFB

Bought this radio to start with. It's a great radio! Lots of features in it. Also an very good sound in it. The menu is an hard thing to find out how it works. But the manual gives all the answers! First few days you need to play with it. But works fine after find out how it works. Nice set to take out on a trip.
