Desktop Shortwave Transceiver

Super bargain with good features!

N8DE

When this transceiver was first introduced in the USA back in the 1980's, it piqued my fancy.

It has quite an extensive set of low-end features and operates quite well on either 110v AC or 12v DC.

The output is continuously variable from less than one watt to full output which approaches 100w depending on band.

Have FIVE of them and will try my best to keep them running forever, as some parts are NOT available now.

The two biggest complaints:

1. When the switching-mode power supply transformer fails, there is no replacement available ANYWHERE, forcing the radio to be used ONLY on 12v DC.

2. Operating on CW requires using the delta-f control to set the received tone to the operator's preference.
