Bought one of these used from our local dealer at the time. Best radio I had until then. 1kHz readout! Thought I died and went to ham heaven. (Remember this is 1983.) The ALC never worked right for me. I shorted out the ALC voltage at the rear accessory jack and all was well. CW filter was almost too good. The radio has 2 tubes, the rest is solid state. The AC and DC power supplies are right there in the case with everything else so you don’t need an external one. There are two separate power cords. One is wired for AC; the other for DC. Connect the correct one to the octal plug and everything is wired up how it needs to be. Very well thought out. Haven’t used mine in years; will need new tubes (a 12BY7 and some TV horizontal output tube. Only thing I wished for was a dual VFO, which could be had as an external accessory but which were a bit hard to find and probably impossible now.
